Come Make Memories with Your Family and Friends
About Heber Springs, Greers Ferry Lake and the Little Red River
Heber Springs, Arkansas is a short drive from cities like Little Rock, Jonesboro, Fort Smith and Memphis, but it’s a world away from the every day stresses of life. Nestled in the foothills of Arkansas’ Ozark Mountains, Heber Springs is the perfect destination for couples, families, friends, and small groups. If you love art, photography, cooking, playing golf, boating, cliff jumping, rock climbing, fly fishing, bass fishing, walleye fishing, hiking, bird watching, antiquing, hanging out with friends or family, relaxing in front of a fire, reading a good book, or doing nothing at all in a beautiful setting, you’ll love Heber Springs and our Fabulous Family Lake House.
Our Fabulous Family Lake House is located on Eden Isle, a 400 acre resort surrounded by Greers Ferry Lake in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. Just 4 miles from Heber Springs, Arkansas, Eden Isle was developed as a planned luxury resort in the early 1960s. One of Eden Isle's early advertising brochures states that "the entire island exemplifies Nature's pristine beauty; each fall it is a land of flaming forests and each spring green foliage and colorful blossoms blend with the unusual garden and park effects designed by our landscape architect . . . in this Eden-like atmosphere . . ." Those words continue to describe the beautiful setting of our Fabulous Family Lake House. While you're staying at Eden Isle you can enjoy fine dining at the Red Apple Inn & Country Club, or play golf at the Club's championship golf course (part of the Arkansas Golf Trail). You can also easily spend time on Greers Ferry Lake by brining your own boat or renting a boat at Eden Isle's Marina.
If you choose to leave Eden Isle you can take advantage of the many nearby attractions like Sugarloaf Mountain which rises 690' above Heber Springs and offers panoramic views of the Little Red River and the surrounding Ozark foothills. Another must see attraction is Bridal Veil Falls, a 90 foot waterfall that can be viewed from an easily accessed viewing platform, or up close and personal by two hiking trails. If you'd like to float the Little Red River, you can take advantage of the shuttles and boat rentals offered by Sulphur Creek Outfitters, or you can use our Intex Explorer Kayak. If you prefer fly fishing for trophy rainbow, brown, cutthroat or brook trout on the Little Red River we can highly recommend Rouse Fly Fishing. If you're looking for a beach side trip, you won't want to miss Heber Springs' Sandy Beach, home of the annual World Championship Cardboard Boat Races. Kids of all ages enjoy a visit to Ruland Junction's Toy Train Museum. If you love the enchantment of a cave, words can't describe the beauty of Blanchard Springs Caverns (a one hour/53 mile drive from Heber Springs). Between November and February, no one should miss visiting the Trumpeter Swans (email us for great locations for viewing).
